Triple Diamond Casino
Triple Diamond is a 3-reel and 9-payline video slot, meaning it is a light upgrade on the 3-reels and solo payline on offer in Double Diamond. However, visually the two are identical. Both are designed like classic slot machines found in casinos and bars, with options to adjust certain variables before play. Triple Diamond is a certified classic slot game from respected London-based developers International Gaming Technology. IGT has been developing slots for US casinos for nearly 20 years, and Triple and Double Diamond should be familiar names to most physical casino customers.

Not too long ago, we took a closer look at the Double Diamond slot from IGT, a basic slot game with one payline across three reels.
It was an online version of one of the more popular retro-styled slots you can find in brick-and-mortar casinos.
So what could possibly be better than Double Diamonds? Well, how about triple?
The Triple Diamond slot boasts a very similar look to the Double Diamond game, and this time you can play on up to nine paylines and win up to 1199x your line stake.
Overview: Triple Diamond
Like the Double Diamond slot, the Triple Diamond slot is a direct port over onto a digital format from a very popular real-world casino game.
Unlike the Double Diamond slot, the Triple Diamond slot boasts more paylines (up to nine can be in play at any one time) and the slot features a number of symbols, bars, cherries, and 7s, which are common on retro-style slots.
The Triple Diamond symbol acts as the in-game wild symbol and is also the highest paying symbol in the game.
Who will the Triple Diamond slot appeal to?
If you are a fan of the real-world version of Double or Triple Diamond slots, then there is no doubt that you will like this game. The added option of having up to nine paylines in play gives the game a little more flexibility.
Triple Diamond is most certainly a vintage-themed slot, and it is essentially a slightly upgraded version of the Double Diamond game.
Retro fans will certainly like the three-reel throwback styling, but those who enjoy New Jersey online slots with a few more features and bonuses may find that the Triple Diamond slot is lacking in this department.
Where to play the Triple Diamond online slot in New Jersey
Like its counterpart Double Diamond, the Triple Diamond online slot is included in the rosters of a wide number of online casino sites in NJ.

Gameplay: Triple Diamond
Triple Diamond will be very familiar to you if you’ve played the physical Double or Triple Diamond version in a land-based casino. The layout of the slot is virtually the same as Double Diamond, and the only real difference is the Triple Diamond wild being updated, plus the additional paylines.
Those added paylines do make a difference. They mean you can play from one payline up to nine paylines per spin, although your total bet will increase with every additional payline you play.
As always, on any variable payline slot it pays to have the maximum number of paylines in play at any one time. So it is a sensible strategy to wager a smaller amount per payline and have more paylines in play, rather than wager a larger amount on a smaller number of paylines.
Players can wager from $0.10 up to $100 per payline, giving a very wide scope to play for smaller amounts of money, up to a maximum of $900 per spin.
The cheapest bet to have all paylines in operation is $0.90. Other than this, the slot plays out as many three reel slots do, with one slight exception in that reels can show either three symbols or two symbols across the reels.
Occasionally, some of the symbols you land are blanks, which don’t pay out anything. The good news is that some of the nine paylines pay out even if you have different numbers of symbols on each reel, which isn’t the case on the Double Diamond slot.
Payouts start at 2x your payline bet for landing a single Triple Diamond wild symbol anywhere on the reel. Any three bar symbols on a payline pays out 5x your payline. Any two Triple Diamond wilds or three single bar symbols pay out 10x your payline bet.
Three double bar symbols pay out 20x your bet, and three of the triple bar symbols pay out 40x your bet. Three of the ‘7’ symbols pay out 100x your bet, and land three Triple Diamond wilds on a payline and you hit the jackpot of 1199x your payline bet.
The Triple Diamond wild can also be used on any payline to complete it, and when used in this way, it will triple the usual payout for that win.
Special features: Triple Diamond
Triple diamond wilds
The Triple Diamond wilds are key to the bigger wins in the game, including the jackpot. They offer a 3x multiplier on all completed payline wins, and just a single wild offers a 2x payline payout anywhere across the reels.
Additional paylines
The addition of extra paylines (nine in total) means players can select between one and nine paylines to play on every spin. Tailoring the amount they bet on each payline and the number of paylines gives flexibility on how much to wager.
Classic styling
Triple Diamond is based on a real-world casino game, and so it has the same retro styling as the original, plus the same sound effects akin to many you will have heard if you have listened to the sounds of a typical Vegas slot floor.
What works?
Presentation
The vintage style of the game works nicely. The sound effects are particularly evocative initially, but over time they get a little repetitive.
Regular wins
You will enjoy regular wins in the base game, but most of these are the 2x and 5x your payline stake wins. That means if you are playing more than five paylines, you still lose money.
However, you will hit occasional bigger wins to help boost your balance.
Triple Diamond wilds
The wilds trigger relatively frequently in the game to complete paylines and also as a single payout wild.
Triggering all three is a rarity, but then again, that is the jackpot so it is understandable.
What doesn’t?
No variation
The gameplay on Triple Diamonds is very simple: Pick your number of paylines, pick your payline bet, and then hit the spins.
Alas, with no bonus features and no sub-games or free spins, the gameplay is a tad repetitive. If you aren’t winning, it isn’t too long before your mind starts to wander.
No free spins
One of the biggest problems retro games (or games that are ported over from real-world casinos) face is that many don’t offer free spins. It has now become a sure thing that most online slots offer a chance at a free spins round.
Small base game wins
Most base game wins in the slot are very small and less than your bet (if you are playing the full number of paylines). This means that even with regular wins, you can still lose money as you play Triple Diamond.
The scores
[wp-review id=”6731″]
Graphics and soundtrack: 5/5
IGT has captured the feeling of the offline version quite beautifully, especially in the sound effects. It really does sound like the noises you’d hear in a Vegas slot room.
Nevertheless, after a while those effects can get a little irritating.
Originality and creativity: 2/5
Any slot that is a copy of an offline slot is unlikely to score a huge amount for originality or creativity, but IGT has ported this version of the game to the online arena quite well.
Play value: 5/5
Triple Diamond Casino Games
A lack of a cherry symbol impacts the value here, but the fact any bar pays out at 5x your payline and the Triple Diamond wild awards a 3x multiplier gives decent value. But those low base game wins can hurt at times.
Jackpot potential: 5/5
We’ve bumped up this score from the Double Diamond slot because you can win 1199x your winning payline. With nine paylines in operation, you have a chance of doing so.
Play Triple Diamond
Repeat play: 3/5
If you were a fan of the original offline games, or just enjoy retro slot gaming, then there’s plenty to keep you spinning the Triple Diamond reels.
But fans of more modern slots may find the gameplay a little too simplistic and repetitive.
Total score: 20/25
Triple Diamond is essentially a reworking of Double Diamond, and that is reflected in its similar scores. It lacks many modern slot features, but the additional paylines and an increased jackpot just put this game ahead of the other in my view.
